Operating Room Nurse

Location: Aiken, SC

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: August 24, 2026

Schedule:

Four 10-hour day shifts per week (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM)

Call requirements: Five overnight shifts (5:00 PM – 6:30 AM) over a 6-week period; three weekend 24-hour shifts over a 6-week period

Requirements:

• Active RN license in state of practice
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of general OR experience
• Ability to function in both circulating and scrub roles across multiple surgical specialties

Position Overview:

You'll support a busy operating room providing circulating and/or scrub nursing for a range of surgical procedures including general surgery, orthopedic, gynecological, urological, and ENT cases. Your responsibilities include preparing and maintaining sterile fields, managing instruments and equipment, performing accurate counts, verifying surgical site and consent, monitoring patient safety throughout procedures, and collaborating with surgeons and anesthesia staff to ensure smooth case flow. You'll also assist with patient positioning, prepping, and handoff to recovery staff, and document all intraoperative care accurately.

This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication, and the ability to remain calm and efficient in a fast-paced surgical environment.
