Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse
Location: Nashville, TN
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)
Schedule: 3 shifts per week with rotating weekends and holidays
Contract Duration: 12 weeks
Start Date: September 7, 2026
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, monitor, and respond to rapid changes in neonatal condition
- Administer medications and titratable drips with precise neonatal dosing
- Manage advanced life support equipment and thermoregulation
- Support developmental and feeding care for premature infants
- Perform resuscitation and rapid response interventions
- Collaborate with neonatologists and interdisciplinary teams
- Educate and support families, including kangaroo care instruction
- Maintain infection control and safety protocols
- Document care accurately in the electronic medical record
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS and NRP certification required
- 1+ years of NICU experience (required)
- Experience with ventilator management and high-risk neonates
- RNC-NIC certification preferred
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
Dress Code
Navy, ceil blue, grey, or white scrubs. No long sleeves, watches, rings, or nail polish.
Float Policy
Float to comparable high-acuity areas as needed.
