Respiratory Therapist – NICU

Location: Boston, MA

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 21, 2026

About the Role

The facility is a birthing hospital with Level 2 and 3 NICU and Special Care Nursery services. As a Respiratory Therapist, you'll deliver critical respiratory support to neonatal and pediatric patients in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll work autonomously administering respiratory protocols, managing artificial airways, providing mechanical ventilation, delivering aerosolized medications, and administering oxygen therapy in close partnership with physicians, nurses, and interdisciplinary care teams.

Schedule & Staffing

• 36 hours per week on a rotating night schedule
• Every third weekend rotation
• No float requirement
• Guaranteed 72 hours biweekly

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED
• Current RRT certification (NBRC-verified)
• BLS/CPR-AHA and NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) required
• 2+ years of respiratory therapy experience
• NICU experience is essential
• Delivery room experience preferred
• Certification to manage artificial airways and mechanical ventilation

Important Notes

• This position is not available to local candidates (must reside beyond 50 miles from the facility)
• Orientation begins weekly every Monday
• Candidates who have worked at this facility as permanent or per diem staff within the last six months are not eligible; a six-month separation is required
