TELEMETRY RN – NIGHT SHIFT

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for its telemetry unit, providing winter coverage on a night shift basis.

Shift & Duration

Required Qualifications

Active RN license: Ohio or compact state license required *in hand at time of submission*
Minimum 18 months recent telemetry/medical-surgical nursing experience in a permanent role
BLS and ACLS certifications (required and active); NIHSS preferred
Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency and experience managing cardiac rhythms and cardiac medications
One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in your specialty within the past 12 months (no peer references)
BSN preferred; ADN accepted

Clinical Responsibilities

Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with cardiac and acute conditions
Interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate care appropriately
Administer medications, including cardiac drips and antiarrhythmics, per orders
Assess patients, respond promptly to changes in condition, and participate in rapid response/code interventions
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans
Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and treatment
Maintain accurate documentation and follow infection control and safety protocols

Compliance Notes

ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments required during orientation (2 attempts to pass)
Background check must be completed within 48 hours of contract signing
Annual hands-on competency and education modules required for extended or return assignments
Drug screening (10-panel + nicotine) required within 12 months of start
