TELEMETRY RN — NIGHT SHIFT
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Telemetry RN for night shift coverage. This is an 18-week contract (13 weeks also available) working three 12-hour shifts per week, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM.
Requirements
- Active RN license: Ohio state or compact license (must be in hand at time of submission)
- 18 months of permanent telemetry/medical-surgical experience required
- BLS and ACLS certification (active, in hand)
- NIHSS certification preferred
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency and cardiac rhythm monitoring experience
- One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director from your specialty (within past 12 months; co-worker references will not be accepted)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
Clinical Scope
You'll provide continuous cardiac monitoring and acute nursing care to patients with cardiac and other acute conditions. Duties include:
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate promptly
- Administer medications (cardiac drips, antiarrhythmics) per orders
- Monitor vital signs and patient condition; respond to changes rapidly
- Participate in rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Collaborate with cardiologists and the interdisciplinary team
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and treatment plans
- Document assessments and interventions accurately
- Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols
