TELEMETRY RN – NIGHT SHIFT
Position Overview
The facility is seeking a Telemetry RN for night shift coverage. This is an 18-week contract (13 weeks also available), working three 12-hour shifts per week from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Ohio or compact state (must be in hand at time of submission)
- Minimum 18 months of recent, permanent telemetry/medical-surgical experience required — this is non-negotiable
- BLS and ACLS certifications (active and in hand); NIHSS preferred
- Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
- One current professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in the specialty (from assignments within the past 12 months)
- COVID-19 and flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with cardiac and acute conditions
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate care as needed
- Administer cardiac medications and drips per physician orders
- Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary team on plan of care
- Respond to rapid response and code interventions
- Patient and family education on cardiac conditions and treatment
- Accurate EMR documentation
- Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
What to Know
Background check and drug screening required. Pre-start orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments (2 attempts to pass). Extensions available up to 18 months, followed by a required 6-month break unless deferred by the facility.
