Intermediate Medical Care (IMC) — Travel RN | Nights | Longview, TX

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: August 31, 2026

Unit Overview

This IMC position supports a general intermediate care unit managing a wide variety of patients across neurology, respiratory, cardiac, and GI specialties. Nurses on this unit are expected to manage up to three simultaneous drips and care for patients requiring BiPAP therapy. The acuity level demands strong independent clinical judgment and the ability to navigate complex, multi-system patient presentations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care using the full nursing process: assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation
• Administer medications and treatments per protocol; monitor for effectiveness and side effects
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care accurately
• Provide patient and family education; identify needs and connect to appropriate resources

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a comparable IMC or step-down clinical setting
• Active RN license in Texas or a qualifying compact state
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• BSN preferred
• Previous experience with electronic health record documentation strongly preferred
