ICU RN – Medical & Neuro Critical Care

Location: Springfield, MA

Shift: 12-hour nights (7 p.m.–7:30 a.m.), 4 days per week

Contract: 13 weeks | Start date: September 7, 2026

About the Role

Join the Medical Intensive Care & Neuro Critical Care Units as a travel RN. You'll provide direct care to critically ill patients in a collaborative, well-staffed environment. This is a float position covering the Medical ICU, Neuro ICU, Cardiovascular ICU, and Intermediate Care Unit.

Clinical Focus

You'll manage high-acuity patients including post-cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, sepsis, and acute kidney injury requiring continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT/CVVH). You'll assess, monitor, and respond rapidly to patient condition changes; administer titratable vasoactive and sedation drips; manage ventilators, arterial lines, central lines, and hemodynamic monitors; and collaborate with intensivists and the care team on complex cases.

Requirements

  • Active RN license (state or compact)
  • BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
  • 1+ year ICU/critical care experience (prefer MICU background; strong clinical foundation essential)
  • NIHSS certification required
  • CCRN preferred
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
  • Experience with critical care equipment and titratable drips

Unit Details

Patient ratios are 1:2 or 1:1 based on acuity. The unit prioritizes strong staffing and values experienced nurses with solid critical care backgrounds.

Note: Candidates must reside outside a 90-mile radius of the facility.
