Cardiovascular Prep & Recovery RN – Outpatient Procedural Area
Location: Kansas City, MO
Shift & Schedule:
- 12-hour shifts, 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM
- Monday–Friday, no weekends or holidays
- No call required
- 13-week contract with guaranteed 36 hours/week
About the Role:
You'll work in a fast-paced outpatient cardiovascular procedural area supporting catheterization and EP lab procedures. Your responsibilities include admitting patients, obtaining pre-procedure histories, initiating IVs, and providing post-sedation recovery care with close monitoring of vascular access sites (groin and wrist).
You must be comfortable assessing and managing post-catheterization access sites—including recognizing bleeding complications and applying direct pressure when needed. Telemetry monitoring and cardiac rhythm interpretation are core to this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Pre-procedure patient assessment and IV placement
- Continuous telemetry monitoring and EKG interpretation
- Post-sedation recovery nursing care
- Vascular access site assessment and monitoring
- Medication administration per protocol
- Patient and family education
- Collaboration with cardiologists and procedural teams
- Documentation in the patient record
Requirements:
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1+ years telemetry experience
- Competency in EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
- Ability to manage cardiac medications and recognize arrhythmias
