ICU Registered Nurse – Night Shift

Location: Des Moines, IA

Shift & Schedule:

• 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend
• July 4th and every other holiday off
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• 26-week contract

Requirements:

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• CCRN certification preferred
• 1+ years of ICU/critical care experience
• Proficiency with ventilators, hemodynamic monitoring, and titratable drips

About the Role:

You'll provide direct nursing care to critically ill patients in the facility's ICU. Your responsibilities include:

• Continuous monitoring and rapid assessment of patient condition changes
• Administration of vasoactive and sedation drips per physician orders
• Management of advanced life support equipment (ventilators, arterial lines, central lines)
• Collaboration with intensivists and interdisciplinary teams on care plans
• Code and rapid response interventions as needed
• Patient and family education
• Documentation in the electronic health record
• Maintenance of infection control and safety protocols

Patient ratios align with acuity and facility staffing guidelines.

Onboarding Requirements:

Standard credentialing and compliance screening, including background check, education verification, drug screen, immunizations (COVID-19, MMR, Hepatitis B, Tdap, varicella, TB screening), and specialty-specific competency testing.

The facility will waive the 24-hour notice for quick starts.
