Registered Nurse
RN – Burn ICU/PCU
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Location: Kansas City, MO
About the Role
Join a dedicated burn unit managing critically ill adult patients from admission through discharge. You'll provide comprehensive care across mixed acuity levels—ICU, PCU, telemetry, and medical/surgical patients—working alongside a strong multidisciplinary team including a dedicated burn surgeon, intensivists, nurse practitioners, and specialists in rehabilitation, dietary, and case management.
Clinical Scope
This unit handles wound management, debridement, dressing changes, line insertions, chest tube care, and post-operative procedural support. You'll monitor hemodynamics, titrate vasoactive and sedation drips, manage advanced life support equipment, assess rapid changes in patient condition, and collaborate on complex care plans. Burn experience is preferred but not required.
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and TNCC certification required
- 1+ years ICU/critical care experience
- NIH hemodynamic monitoring certification preferred
- ABLS certification preferred
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
- Proficiency with cardiac rhythm interpretation and hemodynamic drip titration
Schedule & Expectations
- 36-hour weekly guarantee
- 3 weekend shifts per 4-week scheduling period
- Float to like units (ICU/PCU/CCU) as needed

Teamwork-oriented environment with experienced, tenured core staff. Travel nurse–friendly with unit-based paramedics, 24/7 critical care intensivists, and dedicated support services. Professional dress code: navy blue scrub top, navy or black scrub pants, and scrub jacket.
