Location: Arcata, CA

Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM

Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts weekly (36 hours guaranteed)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: August 14, 2026

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a fast-paced team managing high-volume, emergent and urgent patient cases. You'll and assess incoming patients, administer medications and treatments, respond to trauma activations and codes, and collaborate with physicians and specialists on care plans. This role requires strong clinical judgment, rapid decision-making, and the ability to maintain patient flow in a dynamic environment.

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience
• Proficiency with protocols and high-acuity environments
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred
• Proof of negative TB screen within 12 months of contract start

• Manage trauma activations and code responses
• Monitor patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Document assessments and interventions accurately
