Oncology Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Oncology RN for a 13-week contract in the oncology unit. You'll work nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), three 12-hour shifts per week.
Requirements
- Active RN license (GA or compact license)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- Chemotherapy/Biotherapy certification (ONS) required
- OCN (Oncology Certified Nurse) preferred
- Minimum 1+ years of oncology nursing experience
- Strong IV access and vascular assessment skills (peripheral, PICC, port access)
Key Responsibilities
- Administer chemotherapy, immunotherapy, and biotherapy per physician orders and safety protocols
- Assess patients pre-, during, and post-treatment; monitor for adverse reactions and side effects
- Initiate and manage vascular access (peripheral IVs, PICC lines, implanted ports)
- Manage treatment-related symptoms (nausea, pain, fatigue, neutropenia)
- Educate patients and families on treatment plans, side effects, and self-care
- Provide emotional support throughout cancer diagnosis and treatment
- Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and the interdisciplinary care team
- Follow safe handling protocols for hazardous drugs per OSHA/USP <800> guidelines
- Document assessments, treatments, and patient responses accurately

- Schedule: NOC, 36 hrs/week
