Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Night Shift

Assignment Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical RN for a 13-week contract on the night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll work three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours) caring for adult patients across a diverse range of medical and surgical diagnoses.

Requirements

• Active RN license in Georgia or valid compact license
• Minimum 1 year of Med-Surg nursing experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CMSRN certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to 4–6 adult patients per shift with varying acuity levels
• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and the interdisciplinary team on care coordination and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatment, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

What We're Looking For

You have solid Med-Surg experience, strong clinical judgment, and the ability to manage a diverse patient caseload. Travel nursing experience is valued.
