Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Location: Akron, OH

Shift: Night, 3 x 12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Contract Duration: 13–20 weeks

Start Date: September 25, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking a compassionate and detail-oriented RN to join its medical-surgical telemetry unit on the night shift. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, with a focus on continuous cardiac monitoring and rapid response to clinical changes.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on plan of care and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatment plans, medications, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the electronic health record
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (permanent Ohio or compact license required at time of submission)
• BLS and ACLS certification (active and in hand)
• Minimum 18 months of recent, permanent med-surg telemetry experience
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
