Medical/Surgical Telemetry Registered Nurse

Location: Akron, OH

Shift: Night, 3×12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)

Contract: 18 weeks

Start Date: September 25, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced Med/Surg Telemetry RN to join the night team. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions, with a focus on continuous cardiac monitoring and acute-care management.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond to patient condition changes
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care planning and discharge
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic health record
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Support infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license in Ohio or current compact license (required at time of submission)
• Minimum 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certification (active and in hand)
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted

• ECG rhythm recognition and competency assessments required during orientation
• One professional reference (manager, ANM, or supervisor) from past 12 months required to qualify
