RN – Emergency Department

Location: Dyersville, IA

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced RN to join the Emergency Department on a night shift. You'll float between the ED and Medical/Surgical units, providing care in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment. This role offers the opportunity to work alongside a collaborative clinical team managing emergent, urgent, and trauma cases.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
• Minimum 1 year of ER experience
• Proficiency with protocols and high-acuity patient care

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN degree
• CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse)

Key Responsibilities

• Perform rapid and assess incoming patients; prioritize care based on acuity
• Provide comprehensive nursing care across a range of emergent and urgent conditions
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and acute deterioration
• Administer medications, treatments, and interventions per protocols
• Manage patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on patient care plans
• Educate patients and families on discharge instructions and follow-up care
• Document assessments and interventions accurately
• Maintain patient flow in a high-volume setting
• Follow infection control and safety protocols
