Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift

• Location: Garfield Heights, OH
• Duration: 18 weeks (13-week option also available)
• Shift: Night, 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Flexible scheduling: 4x12, 3x12, or 2x12 options available
• Guaranteed hours: 48 per week
• Start date: September 25, 2026

About the Role

The facility's medical-surgical telemetry unit provides comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. You'll monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs continuously, respond to changes in patient condition, and manage pre- and post-operative care. Patient load averages 4–6 patients per shift, depending on acuity.

Key Responsibilities

• Cardiac rhythm monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Medication administration, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Pre- and post-operative care: wound management, pain control, discharge planning
• Care coordination for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Collaboration with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams
• Patient and family education on treatment plans and discharge instructions
• Accurate EMR documentation
• Infection control and fall prevention protocols

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Ohio or compact state) in hand at submission
• 18 months permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience required
• BLS and ACLS certification (active and in hand)
• NIHSS certification (must be willing to obtain prior to start)
• One current manager or supervisor reference (from past 12 months)
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
