Cardiac Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a 13-week contract assignment working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll provide direct nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, arrhythmias, and post-operative cardiac needs on a dedicated telemetry unit. This role requires strong clinical judgment, telemetry expertise, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing assessments for patients with cardiac conditions and arrhythmias
- Interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate changes in cardiac status promptly
- Administer cardiac medications, including drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
- Respond to rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
- Maintain accurate EMR documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
- Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- 1+ years of cardiac telemetry experience
- Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
- Experience managing cardiac medications
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
Schedule & Expectations
- Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period and holidays as needed
