Cardiac Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Cardiac Telemetry RN for a 13-week contract assignment working nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM). You'll provide direct nursing care to patients with cardiac conditions, arrhythmias, and post-operative cardiac needs on a dedicated telemetry unit. This role requires strong clinical judgment, telemetry expertise, and the ability to work independently in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing assessments for patients with cardiac conditions and arrhythmias
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms, identify arrhythmias, and escalate changes in cardiac status promptly
  • Administer cardiac medications, including drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
  • Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
  • Respond to rapid response and code interventions as needed
  • Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
  • Maintain accurate EMR documentation of assessments, interventions, and patient responses
  • Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

  • Active RN license (state or compact)
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • 1+ years of cardiac telemetry experience
  • Demonstrated competency in telemetry/EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm monitoring
  • Experience managing cardiac medications
  • BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Schedule & Expectations

  • Night shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
  • 36 guaranteed hours per week
  • Up to 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule period and holidays as needed
