Stepdown/Telemetry RN – 12-Hour Night Shift
Location: Keene, NH
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
Schedule: Every other weekend and holiday rotation
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for its stepdown/telemetry unit. You'll provide nursing care to adult and geriatric patients who require closer monitoring than traditional med-surg but not ICU-level care. This includes patients transitioning from ICU, those at risk of clinical deterioration, and those requiring cardiac monitoring.
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Administer medications, including select IV cardiac drips
- Assess and manage moderate-acuity patients; collaborate with physicians on the plan of care
- Respond to rapid response and code interventions as needed
- Provide patient and family education on condition, treatment, and recovery
- Accurately document assessments and interventions in the EMR
- Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed
- May float to other units as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (New Hampshire or compact)
- BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- 2+ years med-surg experience required
- Cardiac drip experience required – note on your profile
- Dementia experience/management required
- NIHSS strongly preferred
- PCCN preferred
- Own vehicle (required – limited public transportation in area)
