Travel RN – Stepdown / Progressive Care Unit

Morgantown, WV | Nights | 13-Week Contract

This Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit cares for a primarily cardiac patient population, including those recovering from cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures, alongside general medical and surgical patients. Acuity varies — some patients would be classified as progressive care or telemetry level at other facilities, so comfort across that spectrum is important.

Shift & Schedule

• 3x12-hour nights, 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• Weekdays with some weekend coverage required
• Weekend block scheduling (Fri/Sat/Sun or Sat/Sun/Mon) will be considered
• Holiday RTO requests limited to no more than 2 of the 4 major holidays

Clinical Skills Required

• Continuous cardiac telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• IV insertion and peripheral/central line management
• Titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
• BiPAP/CPAP management, non-invasive airway management
• Blood product administration, heparin and IV insulin protocols
• Pre/post cardiac cath and cardiac surgery care
• Participation in rapid response and code interventions

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years RN experience; at least 1 year in Med/Surg Telemetry and 2 years in Stepdown
• BLS and ACLS required (AHA-issued)
• WV or compact RN license required (pending license accepted)
• Permanent address must be 100+ miles from the facility
• Minimum 2 manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years

Additional Details

• Scrubs: Burgundy and/or white (not provided)
• Flu vaccine required (medical exemptions only); COVID-19 vaccine not required
• Orientation: 8 hours, held every other Monday
