Operating Room Nurse – 13-Week Contract

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced OR nurse to join a busy surgical services team. You'll work day shift in a 6-room operating room performing approximately 18 surgical cases daily.

Shift & Schedule

• Day shift: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM, 5 days per week (8-hour shifts)
• Rotational call coverage including weekday evenings, weekends, and holidays
• General orientation begins on Sundays with online modules
• Contract duration: 13 weeks

Specialty Services

You'll support a diverse surgical program including general, laparoscopic, robotic (da Vinci Xi and Mako systems), OB/GYN (cesarean sections), urology, orthopedic trauma, ENT, plastics, and pulmonary endoscopy cases.

Core Responsibilities

• Circulate and/or scrub across multiple surgical specialties
• Maintain sterile field, instruments, and equipment
• Perform pre-op assessments, site verification, and surgical timeouts
• Execute accurate instrument, sponge, and needle counts
• Monitor patient safety and status throughout procedures
• Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia, and surgical team
• Manage supplies and equipment availability
• Document intraoperative care in the EMR

Requirements

• Active RN license (or compact license as applicable)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• Minimum 1+ year of OR experience
• Ability to function in circulating and/or scrub roles
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy

Candidate Eligibility

Permanent residence must be 100+ miles from the facility's service area. Flu vaccination required (medical/religious exemptions only).
