Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Night Shift

Location: Atlanta, GA

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM, three 12-hour shifts per week (36 hours/week)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 21, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking a Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse to join the night shift team. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a diverse range of medical and surgical conditions, managing patient loads of 4–6 per shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to patient condition changes; escalate care as needed
• Administer medications and manage treatment protocols (including heparin drips, insulin drips, and PICC line care)
• Manage pre- and post-operative patients, including wound care and pain management
• Perform IV insertion and care for patients with tracheostomies
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Collaborate with physicians, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact license)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• 18 months of Med-Surg nursing experience required
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• CMSRN certification preferred
• NIHSS certification required
• Strong IV access, medication administration, and tracheostomy management skills
