Medical-Surgical Nurse – Night Shift

Location: Atlanta, GA

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 21, 2026

Shift: Night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 3 × 12-hour shifts per week

About the Role

The facility's medical-surgical unit is seeking a compassionate, detail-oriented RN to deliver comprehensive care to adult patients with diverse diagnoses and acuity levels. You'll manage pre- and post-operative patients, coordinate care for chronic and acute conditions (including cardiac, respiratory, and diabetes), and work collaboratively with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning and patient education.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Manage wound care, pain management, and post-operative recovery
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the medical record
• Educate patients and families on treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift (varies by acuity)

Requirements

• Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
• Minimum 1+ years of medical-surgical nursing experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CMSRN certification preferred
• Ability to manage diverse patient populations and acuity levels

Travel nursing experience preferred. This is a nights-only position—ideal for nurses seeking consistent night-shift work in a stable, supportive environment.
