Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical RN for night shift work in a dynamic inpatient unit. You'll provide comprehensive care to adult patients with a wide range of medical and surgical diagnoses and acuity levels.

Shift Details

• Schedule: 3 × 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM), 36 hours/week
• Contract: 13 weeks
• Start: Flexible Monday start dates
• Scrubs: Navy blue
• Charge responsibility: You may be asked to assume charge duties as needed

Requirements

• Active RN license (Georgia or compact license)
• Minimum 2 years Med-Surg nursing experience
• Surgical and wound care experience required
• PCA/epidural administration experience
• BLS certification required; ACLS and NIHSS preferred
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• CMSRN certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Manage pre- and post-operative care, including wound care and pain management
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team on discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on condition, treatments, and discharge instructions
• Maintain accurate documentation and infection control protocols
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift

Location: Atlanta, GA (50-mile radius; relocation required)
