Medical-Surgical Nurse — Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Nurse for night shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) on a 13-week contract. You will provide direct patient care to adults with a diverse range of medical and surgical conditions, managing pre- and post-operative patients, chronic disease management, and acute care needs.

Schedule & Location

• 3 × 12-hour night shifts per week (36 hours/week)
• Guaranteed hours
• Available start: Mondays, beginning September 21, 2026
• 50-mile radius; non-local travelers only
• Navy blue scrubs

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
• Minimum 2 years Med-Surg nursing experience
• Demonstrated wound care and pain management experience (PCA/epidural familiarity)
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• CMSRN certification preferred

Key Responsibilities

• Assess, monitor, and respond to changes in patient condition
• Manage typical patient loads of 4–6 per shift
• Administer medications, wound care, and pain management
• Coordinate pre- and post-operative care
• Manage acute and chronic conditions (cardiac, respiratory, diabetes)
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams on discharge planning
• Patient and family education
• Charge nurse duties as requested
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
