Registered Nurse – Telemetry
Location: Aurora, CO
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (nights)
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36/week
About the Role
Join the telemetry unit at the facility as a travel RN providing continuous cardiac monitoring and acute nursing care. You'll work with a large cardiac patient population, managing rhythm interpretation, cardiac medications, and rapid response situations. The unit emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and compassionate patient care.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and identify arrhythmias; escalate care as needed
- Administer cardiac medications including drips and antiarrhythmics per physician orders
- Assess and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
- Collaborate with cardiologists and the interdisciplinary team on care plans
- Respond to rapid response and code interventions
- Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions and treatment plans
- Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
- Float to other medical/telemetry and rehabilitation units as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license (state or compact as applicable)
- BLS and ACLS certification (required)
- Minimum 1 year of acute care telemetry hospital experience
- Demonstrated competency in telemetry and EKG interpretation
- Experience monitoring cardiac rhythms and managing cardiac medications
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong telemetry background
- Chemotherapy certification (opportunity to work oncology units)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
