Emergency Department Nurse

Location: Overland Park, KS

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 36 guaranteed hours/week

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking an experienced RN to join a high-acuity, fast-paced team. You'll provide comprehensive emergency nursing care to patients across a broad spectrum of urgent and emergent conditions, from through discharge.

Key Responsibilities

• and prioritize incoming patients based on acuity
• Provide direct nursing care, administer medications and treatments per protocols
• Respond to trauma activations, codes, and rapid patient deterioration
• Monitor patients awaiting admission, transfer, or discharge
• Collaborate with physicians and the interdisciplinary care team
• Document assessments and interventions accurately in the EMR
• Educate patients and families on discharge planning and follow-up care
• Maintain patient flow and safety protocols in a high-volume environment

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification required
• Minimum 1+ years of ER experience
• Strong ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) and CEN (Certified Emergency Nurse) preferred
