REGISTERED NURSE – MEDICAL-SURGICAL TELEMETRY FLOAT
Location: Denver metro area, Colorado
Shift: 12-hour nights (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Schedule: 6–9 weekend shifts per 6-week cycle
Contract: 13 weeks

OVERVIEW
The facility seeks an experienced Registered Nurse for a telemetry float role across multiple acute-care units. You will provide continuous cardiac monitoring and skilled nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with diverse diagnoses. This is a highly flexible position requiring strong communication, clinical judgment, and the ability to adapt quickly across different patient populations and care settings.
CLINICAL SCOPE
You will care for patients across medical-surgical telemetry and specialty units, including cardiac, neuro, oncology, orthopedic, trauma, renal, bariatrics, and emergency observation. Patient populations include post-surgical cases, general medicine, and stable long-term placements. Typical patient ratios are 1:5–6 based on acuity.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform continuous cardiac monitoring and EKG interpretation
- Titrate cardiac drips (e.g., heparin) per protocol
- Assess, monitor, and respond promptly to patient condition changes
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Manage medication administration and patient education
- Follow infection control and fall prevention protocols
REQUIREMENTS
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certification required
- Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience
- Strong EKG interpretation and cardiac rhythm recognition skills
- Prior neuro experience preferred
ASSIGNMENT & FLEXIBILITY
Schedules are released 4–6 weeks in advance. You may be assigned to a single facility for a week or receive just-in-time assignments 1–2 hours before shift start. You must be willing to float across all designated facilities within a 60-mile radius and accept assignments to ICU, PCU/stepdown, or other acuity levels as needed. All time-off requests must be submitted before assignment begins. Valid driver's license required.
Orientation: 1–2 days with a preceptor. Attendance during the orientation week is mandatory.
