CT Technologist – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a CT Technologist for night shifts in a high-volume, 24-hour imaging department. You'll perform computed tomography exams, prepare and administer contrast media, and collaborate with radiologists to deliver diagnostic-quality imaging.

Schedule & Contract

  • Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour nights)
  • Days: Friday, Saturday, Sunday
  • Contract Duration: 16 weeks
  • Guaranteed Hours: 36 weekly
  • Holiday Coverage: You must work 2 of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's Day) and 1 of 4 minor holidays (day after Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, New Year's Eve)

Requirements

  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R) and CT (ARRT-CT)
  • Current state radiologic technology license
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years specialty experience
  • IV certification/venipuncture skills preferred

Clinical Scope

The department performs approximately 130 exams daily (weekdays) and 80 exams daily (weekends), serving both inpatient and outpatient populations. Procedures include coronary angiography, various biopsy procedures, abscess drains, pre-Watchman protocols, and ablation protocols.

Key Duties

  • Perform CT exams per physician orders with accurate positioning and image quality
  • Screen patient history for contraindications (allergies, renal function, pregnancy)
  • Monitor patients during contrast administration for adverse reactions
  • Maintain radiation safety and ALARA principles
  • Document exams accurately in hospital systems
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues and ensure proper maintenance
