RN – Medical-Surgical Telemetry
Location: Rochester, NY
Shift: Night shift, 12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week available
Contract Duration: 16 weeks
Start Date: October 13, 2026
About the Role
You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions on a med-surg telemetry unit. Your responsibilities include continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring, medication and treatment administration (including cardiac drips), pre- and post-operative care, and coordination with the interdisciplinary team on discharge planning. You'll educate patients and families, manage typical patient loads of 4–6 patients per shift, and maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols.
Requirements
- Active RN license in New York (or compact license as applicable)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- Minimum 1 year recent experience in acute med-surg/telemetry
- Telemetry and EKG interpretation competency
- 2 years of U.S. work experience required for non-U.S. candidates
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted per facility policy
Schedule & Expectations
- Minimum 1 weekend shift per week or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
- Must work at least 1 holiday during the contract
- Flexibility required; block booking may be requested but is not guaranteed
- Float to other units as needed
- Willingness to work charge shifts (training provided if needed)
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
