Interventional Radiology Technologist

Location: Salinas, CA

Shift: 4 x 10-hour days

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 21, 2026

About the Role

The facility's Interventional Radiology department performs a broad range of minimally invasive, image-guided procedures including angiograms, embolizations, drain placements, stent placements, and biopsies. You'll work alongside interventional radiologists in a fast-paced, procedurally driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set up and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies for IR procedures
  • Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment during procedures
  • Administer contrast media and monitor patients for adverse reactions
  • Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to changes
  • Assist with pre- and post-procedure patient care and site management
  • Follow radiation safety and ALARA protocols
  • Document procedures and patient data accurately

Required Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program
  • ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required
  • State radiologic technology license (California)
  • BLS and ACLS certification
  • Minimum 2 years IR or Cardiac Cath Lab experience
  • Ability to scrub and circulate sterile procedures

Schedule & Call

  • Call: 1 night per week + every other weekend (limited volume)
  • Must live within 30 minutes of the facility
  • Orientation: Mondays only
  • Guaranteed 40 hours/week

Additional Notes

Experience with pacemaker implantation and endovascular trauma procedures is highly preferred. Professional scrubs provided or wear any color; no facility logos. Department closed on major holidays.
