Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract | Sioux City, IA
Nights | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | 12-Hour Shifts | 36 Hours/Week
13-Week Contract | Start Date: September 28, 2026
This high-volume Labor & Delivery unit manages a broad range of acuity, including high-risk OB patients with conditions such as preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and fetal distress. The ideal candidate is confident in both routine and emergent delivery scenarios and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
Clinical Scope:
- Continuous maternal and fetal monitoring, including interpretation of fetal heart rate patterns and contraction patterns
- Administration of labor induction/augmentation agents and epidural support
- Circulating support for cesarean sections; scrub experience a plus
- Immediate newborn care and resuscitation support
- Float to Postpartum 1–2 shifts per week required
Schedule: Night shifts, every third weekend
Contract Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of recent L&D experience required; high-risk OB experience required
- Experience at a high-volume delivery center (200–300+ deliveries/month) within the past year required
- Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred
- Active Iowa RN license required at time of submission
- BLS and ACLS (AHA or ARC) required
- AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification required
- NRP certification required
- Multiple completed travel contracts preferred
- Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility (based on driver's license address)
