Emergency Department RN — Rochester, NY

Position Overview

The facility's Emergency Department is seeking experienced RNs for a 16-week contract. You'll work in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment that includes specialized geriatric emergency care services. The unit prioritizes collaborative teamwork, strong clinical leadership, and patient-centered care.

Schedule

12-hour night shifts rotating between 3p–3a and 7p–7a
36 hours per week (3 shifts)
One weekend shift per contracted week, or two weekend shifts every other weekend
Minimum one holiday shift required during contract
Blocked scheduling available (rotating or fixed Thu/Fri/Sat, Fri/Sat/Sun, or Sat/Sun/Mon)
On-call available but not required (averaging 2 hours per week; shifts in 4, 8, 12, or 16-hour blocks between 7p–7a)

Requirements

Active New York RN license
BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
2+ years recent ER experience
TNCC and/or CEN preferred
BSN preferred; ADN accepted
2 years of U.S. work history required for non-U.S. candidates
Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility

Key Responsibilities

and assess incoming patients; provide rapid care across emergent and urgent conditions; administer medications and treatments; respond to trauma activations and codes; manage patient flow and throughput; collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams; document accurately in the EMR; educate patients and families on discharge and follow-up care.
