Medical-Surgical Telemetry Nurse – Night Shift

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a registered nurse for a medical-surgical telemetry unit. You'll provide direct patient care on the night shift in an acute care environment managing patients with medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions.

Shift & Schedule

• 12-hour nights: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• 36 or 48 hours per week available
• 1 weekend shift per week or 2 weekend shifts every other weekend
• Must work at least 1 holiday during the contract
• 16-week contract

Your Role

• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; respond to acute changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips as ordered
• Manage pre- and post-operative care including wound management and pain control
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory diagnoses)
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions
• Document thoroughly and collaborate with physicians, specialists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention standards
• Typical patient load: 4–6 patients per shift

Requirements

• Active RN license (New York or compact license)
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• 1+ years recent med-surg/telemetry experience (2+ years preferred)
• 2+ years U.S. work experience required for international nurses
• Telemetry and EKG interpretation competency required
• Willingness to float to other units and work charge as needed
• Flexible to meet facility scheduling needs
• Must reside more than 50 miles from the facility
