Registered Nurse – Telemetry

Location: Louisville, KY

Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM | Every other weekend required

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

About the Role

The facility is seeking a Registered Nurse for its telemetry unit. You'll provide continuous cardiac monitoring and nursing care to patients with acute cardiac and other acute conditions, interpreting rhythms, identifying arrhythmias, and escalating care as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor cardiac rhythms continuously and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Interpret EKGs and identify arrhythmias; escalate findings appropriately
• Administer cardiac medications, including drips and antiarrhythmics, per physician orders
• Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, and the interdisciplinary team on patient care plans
• Respond to rapid response and code interventions as needed
• Assess patients, document interventions and responses accurately in the EMR
• Educate patients and families on cardiac conditions, treatment plans, and lifestyle modifications
• Maintain infection control and fall prevention protocols
• Manage a typical patient load per facility acuity and staffing guidelines

Requirements

• Active RN license (state or compact license)
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
• BLS and ACLS certification required
• NIHSS certification required
• Minimum 2 years acute care RN experience, with at least 1+ years in telemetry
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• Experience monitoring cardiac rhythms and managing cardiac medications
