Occupational Therapist – Acute Care

Location: Wichita, KS

Shift: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Schedule: 36 guaranteed hours per week

About the Role

Join a collaborative therapy team in a dynamic acute care setting. You'll evaluate and treat patients across a wide range of diagnoses, developing individualized treatment plans to restore function, independence, and daily living skills. With approximately 8–10 patients assigned per OTR, you'll have the autonomy to guide care planning while working closely with physicians, physical therapists, and the interdisciplinary care team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform OT evaluations and develop treatment plans based on patient functional abilities and needs
  • Provide therapeutic interventions for physical, cognitive, and developmental conditions
  • Train patients and caregivers on adaptive equipment and home exercise programs
  • Document evaluations and progress notes in the EMR
  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to meet patient and community needs
  • Adjust treatment approaches based on patient response

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy (ACOTE-accredited)
  • Current NBCOT certification
  • Active Kansas OT license
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 1 year of acute care OT experience
  • Proficiency with EMR documentation systems
