CVICU Registered Nurse – Night Shift

Location: Cleveland, OH

Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 25, 2026

About the Role

The facility's Cardiac Critical Care Unit (CVICU) specializes in managing high-acuity patients, including those recovering from cardiothoracic surgery, experiencing acute cardiac events, and requiring mechanical circulatory support. You'll deliver direct, comprehensive care to critically ill cardiac patients while collaborating closely with cardiothoracic surgeons, cardiologists, and intensivists.

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor hemodynamic and cardiac status; respond to acute changes and escalate care as needed
• Manage post-operative cardiac surgery patients, including chest tube and pacing wire care
• Administer vasoactive and antiarrhythmic drips; titrate medications per physician orders
• Monitor and troubleshoot advanced life support equipment, ventilators, arterial lines, and mechanical support devices
• Perform rapid response and code interventions
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the facility's electronic health record
• Educate patients and families on condition and recovery

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (Ohio or compact state)
• Minimum 18 months recent CVICU or cardiac critical care experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (active and in hand at submission)
• One reference from a manager, supervisor, or director within the past 12 months

Preferred Qualifications

• CCRN certification
• Bachelor's degree in Nursing

Important Notes

• You must work at least every other holiday
• Rhythm recognition and medication safety assessments are required during orientation
• Background check and drug screening must be completed promptly after contract signing
