Nuclear Medicine Technologist

Position Overview

The facility is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join its imaging department. This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule

  • Days: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Call rotation: One weekday call per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 PM) and one weekend shift per month (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nuclear Medicine Technology program
  • NMTCB or ARRT(N) certification (required)
  • Current state radiologic/nuclear medicine license
  • BLS certification
  • Minimum 1+ years of nuclear medicine experience
  • Solid understanding of radiopharmaceutical handling and radiation safety protocols

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals per physician orders
  • Perform nuclear medicine imaging procedures (bone scans, cardiac studies, PET/CT, thyroid scans, and others)
  • Operate and maintain imaging equipment, including gamma cameras and PET scanners
  • Calculate and verify proper radiopharmaceutical dosages to ensure patient safety
  • Monitor patients for adverse reactions during and after administration
  • Adhere to ALARA principles and radiation safety protocols
  • Document exams, dosages, and patient information accurately in imaging systems
  • Perform quality control checks on imaging equipment and dose calibrators
  • Handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials per regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with radiologists and physicians on imaging findings
