Interventional Radiology RN – 12-Week Travel Assignment

Shift: Day shift, 5×8 hours (7:30 AM – 4:00 PM)
Contract Duration: 12 weeks
Start Date: September 14, 2026
About the Role
The facility's interventional radiology department is seeking an experienced RN to join a fast-paced, procedure-driven environment. You'll provide direct patient care and monitoring across four active procedure rooms, supporting a daily patient census of approximately 25.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and educate patients pre-procedure, including consent verification and sedation administration
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status during procedures; alert the team to any changes
- Assist physicians during interventional procedures: angiograms, embolizations, biopsies, drain placements, stent placements, and stroke thrombectomies
- Manage vascular access sites, including sheath removal and hemostasis per protocol
- Administer and monitor moderate/conscious sedation
- Provide post-procedure recovery care and discharge instructions
- Respond to emergent complications with appropriate interventions
- Document care accurately in the electronic health record
Required Qualifications
- Current RN license (Georgia or compact license)
- BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications
- Minimum 1 year of IR nursing experience
- Stroke thrombectomy experience is a hard requirement
- Proficiency with electronic health records
- Experience with moderate sedation and vascular access management
Schedule & Expectations
- Every third weekend (no more than 2 per month)
- Call team: 8–10 shifts per month, rotated among three nurses
- Float within facility scope of practice as needed
- Maximum 7 days RTO per contract
- Holiday work expected per facility policy
Note: Compliance documentation must be completed prior to start date. Clinical screening required.
