Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical-Surgical Telemetry unit. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult and geriatric patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions in a fast-paced inpatient setting.
Schedule & Contract
- Shift: Night rotation, 4 x 12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Start Date: September 21, 2026
- Patient Ratio: 5–6 patients per shift
- Weekend Requirement: 12–16 shifts per contract
- Floating: Required within the facility as needed
Requirements
- Active RN license (state or compact)
- Minimum 2 years Med Surg/Telemetry experience
- BLS certification required; ACLS preferred
- EKG interpretation competency required
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
Key Responsibilities
- Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; respond to rhythm changes and clinical deterioration
- Administer medications and treatments, including cardiac drips, IV insulin, and heparin protocols
- Manage central lines, PICC lines, chest tubes, and non-invasive airway support (CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen)
- Provide pre- and post-operative care, including wound and surgical drain management
- Coordinate care for patients with dementia, diabetes, COPD, sepsis, GI bleed, and similar diagnoses
- Collaborate with physicians, respiratory therapy, IV teams, and interdisciplinary staff
- Educate patients and families on discharge instructions
- Accurately document in the facility's EMR
Unit Details
Includes isolation protocols for COVID-positive patients; multi-level care with stepdown support. Rapid Response Team available. Orientation: 24 hours (week one includes hospital classes).

- Up to 7 days RTO auto-approved (pre-approved only; no additional requests after signing)
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Navy and white scrubs
