Travel RN – Medical/Cardiac Telemetry Step-Down | Maryville, TN

Contract: 13–26 weeks | Start Date: September 21, 2026

Shift: Nights, 3×12 (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend (subject to change based on unit need)

About the Unit

This adult cardiac telemetry/progressive care unit functions as a step-down level of care for patients transitioning from the ICU. No ventilators or vasopressor support are managed on this unit. Patient population includes those with higher oxygen demands, atrial fibrillation, dialysis needs, and post-cardiac catheterization recovery.

Clinical Skills & Procedures

  • Cardiac drip management: heparin, cardizem, amiodarone, sotalol initiation, and drip titration
  • Continuous telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation/management
  • BiPAP/CPAP and high-flow nasal cannula management
  • Pre/post cardiac cath and post-MI care
  • Pre/post hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis management
  • Central line and peripheral IV care, chest tubes, tracheostomy care
  • Blood product administration, wound care/wound vac, PCA management

Required Certifications & Licensure

  • Active Tennessee RN license
  • BLS, ACLS, NIHSS

Scheduling & Float

  • Block scheduling; floating to comparable med-surg units may be required
  • First-time travelers considered based on clinical experience

Additional Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year of recent unit-specific experience
  • Electronic health record experience required (minimum 1 year)
  • Flu vaccine required; no exemptions accepted
  • Pre-assignment testing and modules must be completed within 48 hours of account activation (up to 16 billable hours)
  • Orientation held every Monday
