Labor & Delivery RN — Travel Contract | Asheville, NC

Shift: Days, 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM (36 hours/week, guaranteed)

Contract Duration: 13 weeks

Start Date: September 21, 2026

About the Unit

This active Labor & Delivery unit manages a full spectrum of obstetric patients, from routine laboring patients to complex, high-risk cases including preeclampsia, hemorrhage, and fetal distress. The clinical team is well-rounded, with charge RNs, PCTs, and surgical techs on both day and night shifts.

Clinical Scope

• Vaginal deliveries, cesarean sections, D&C, cerclage, and cesarean hysterectomy
• Continuous fetal heart rate monitoring and uterine contraction assessment
• Labor induction/augmentation, epidural support, and IV medication administration
• Immediate newborn care and neonatal resuscitation
• Circulating support for operative deliveries
• Float coverage to maternal-fetal medicine, mother-baby, and NICU as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (state or compact)
• Minimum 2 years of L&D experience, including high-risk OB
• Immediate newborn care experience
• BLS, ACLS, and NRP certification required
• Advanced Fetal Monitoring certification required

Preferred Qualifications

• BSN preferred; ADN considered
• Circulating experience
• AWHONN Fetal Monitoring certification

Additional Details

• Scrubs provided by the facility
• Weekend and on-call shifts are not required but may be available upon approval
• Ideal candidate is outgoing, adaptable, and comfortable in a fast-paced obstetric environment
