Interventional Radiology Technologist
Position Overview
The facility is seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Technologist to join a high-volume neuro IR program. This is a 13-week contract role working day shift (7:00 AM–5:30 PM), Monday–Thursday, with on-call responsibilities for emergent cases.
About the Unit
You'll work in a specialized angiography and interventional procedures suite performing image-guided minimally invasive procedures. This unit handles heavy neuro IR volumes, including angiograms, embolizations, biopsies, drain placements, and stent placements. The team consists of 5 RNs and 4 technologists working closely with interventional radiologists.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist physicians during minimally invasive, image-guided procedures
- Operate fluoroscopy and angiography equipment
- Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and supplies
- Administer contrast media and monitor patients for reactions
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status throughout procedures
- Ensure radiation safety protocols and ALARA principles
- Document procedures and patient data accurately
- Assist with post-procedure patient care and monitoring
- Collaborate with the interventional radiology team on procedural planning
Requirements
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R); Vascular-Interventional (VI) or Cardiovascular-Interventional (CI) certification required or preferred
- State radiologic technology license (as applicable)
- BLS and ACLS certification required
- 1+ years of IR experience required (neuro IR experience preferred)
- Ability to respond to on-call emergent cases
