Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technologist – 13-Week Contract
Position Overview
The facility seeks an experienced Cardiac Catheterization Lab Technologist for a 13-week assignment in a high-volume, fast-paced lab. You'll support diagnostic and interventional procedures for adult cardiology and structural cardiology patients.
Schedule & Expectations
- Shift: Three 12-hour days per week (8:30 AM – 8:30 PM)
- Call: Two weekday nights per month (7 PM – 6:30 AM) plus one weekend call every 4–5 weeks (Friday 7 PM – Monday 6:30 AM). Call teams rotate every 12 hours, so you won't be on primary call the entire weekend.
- Weekend Coverage: Approximately one weekend Friday evening through Monday morning every 4–5 weeks
- Flexibility Required: You must be willing to stay until all cases are completed.
- No float to sister facilities
Clinical Scope
Daily census averages 35–45 patients. You'll assist with left and right heart catheterizations, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), chronic total occlusion (CTO) cases, TAVR, Watchman, IABP, Impella, ECMO support, transeptal procedures, shock wave, IVUS, and valve-strategic procedures. One-to-one staffing model.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years cath lab experience (diagnostic and interventional, including structural cases)
- Travel experience required; first-time travelers not accepted due to lab acuity
- ARRT(BD) and ARRT(R) certification
- BLS and ACLS (American Heart Association)
- Active West Virginia license (pending license accepted for application only; must have active license to start)
- Two professional references (manager or charge nurse from past 2 years)
Additional Notes
- West Virginia does not recognize RCIS or RCES as licensed cath lab technologists—you cannot hold either credential
