Cardiac Catheterization Lab RN – 13-Week Contract
Location: Charleston, WV
Shift: 4 x 10-hour days, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM
Contract Duration: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
About the Role
We're seeking an experienced Cardiac Catheterization Lab RN to join a busy interventional cardiology team. You'll work as a circulator managing 8–10 cases per day, providing direct patient care and hemodynamic monitoring during diagnostic angiograms, percutaneous coronary interventions (PCI), structural procedures, and device implantations.
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate procedures and manage moderate sedation, including medication administration and patient assessment
- Monitor vital signs and hemodynamic status; alert the team to changes or complications
- Manage vascular access sites, including sheath removal and hemostasis
- Provide pre- and post-procedure patient education, care, and discharge instructions
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient response accurately
- Respond to emergent complications with appropriate clinical judgment
- Collaborate with cardiologists, technicians, and the interdisciplinary team
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years RN experience; 1+ year in cardiac catheterization lab (diagnostic and interventional, including structural)
- Active West Virginia RN license (or compact license); pending license accepted for application submission
- BLS and ACLS certification (American Heart Association)
- BSN preferred; ADN accepted
- RCIS certification preferred (note: WV does not license RCIS as independent practice in the cath lab)
- Two manager or charge nurse references from the past 2 years
Call & On-Call Schedule
- 2–3 weekday nights per month (7:00 PM – 6:30 AM, second call rotation)
- One weekend call every 4–5 weeks (Friday 7:00 PM – Monday 6:30 AM)
- Call rotates first and second positions on 12-hour cycles
- Minimum 2-hour callback requirement
