Cath Lab Technologist – Des Moines, IA

Position Overview

The facility seeks an experienced Cath Lab Technologist for a 13-week contract. You'll work in a busy cardiac catheterization lab performing diagnostic and interventional procedures in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

Schedule

• 4 x 10-hour days: 7:00 AM–5:30 PM, Monday–Friday with one random day off per week
• On-call: 1 night per week and every third weekend (Friday 7:30 PM–Monday 7:00 AM)
• Start date: September 14, 2026

Clinical Scope

You'll assist physicians during diagnostic angiograms, PCI/stent placements, pacemaker and device implants, and peripheral vascular procedures. Responsibilities include:

• Preparing sterile fields and equipment
• Operating imaging and hemodynamic monitoring systems
• Scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring during cases
• Managing patient vital signs and hemodynamic status
• Administering contrast media per protocol
• Assisting with post-procedure care and sheath removal
• Ensuring radiation safety compliance
• Documenting procedures accurately

Requirements

• Active ARRT certification (required); RCIS preferred
• 24+ months current cath lab experience (required)
• BLS/ACLS certification
• Willingness to float across local campuses as needed
• Travel experience within the past 18 months (required)
• Proficiency in scrubbing, circulating, and monitoring
• Structural heart and interventional radiology experience highly preferred
• Valid driver's license

Notes

You must live at least 50 miles from the facility. Holiday coverage required (1–2 of 3 summer holidays). Orientation dates: September 8 or September 14; earlier starts prioritized.
