Pharmacist

Travel Pharmacist – Inpatient Pharmacy | West Plains, MO

Nights | 13-Week Contract | Start: September 2026

This inpatient pharmacy role is a sole-coverage overnight position — the pharmacist is the only staff member on duty during shift hours. You'll manage all order verification and clinical monitoring independently, working through a clinical alert queue that includes pharmacokinetic and renal dosing alerts. The patient population spans neonates through geriatrics across a broad range of diagnoses.

Shift Schedule

• Block scheduling: Wed–Tue, 7 on / 7 off
• Weekday nights: 7:30 PM – 5:30 AM (4x10)
• Weekend nights: 6:00 PM – 6:00 AM (every other weekend required)

Required Qualifications

• Pharm.D. from an accredited program
• Active Missouri pharmacist license (pending accepted if in process at time of offer)
• Minimum 1 year of pharmacist experience
• BLS preferred
• Candidates living within 60 miles of the facility are not eligible

Clinical Skills Required

• Dosing: anticoagulation, pharmacokinetic, renal, geriatric, pediatric, high-alert medications, warfarin, and therapeutic drug monitoring
• IV preparation: antibiotic compounding, IV piggyback, sterile technique
• Pharmacotherapy across cardiovascular, endocrine, infectious disease, pulmonary, and renal conditions

• Cardiac dosing
• Drug shortage management

Additional Details

• No pharmacy technician coverage during overnight hours
• Pharmacists are not expected to respond to code blues or rapid responses
• No pre-approved time off; RTO must be requested and confirmed prior to start
• Holidays: expect to work some during the contract
