Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN – Night Shift

Location: Akron, OH

Shift: Night, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)

Contract Duration: 13–20 weeks

Start Date: September 11, 2026

About the Role

The facility is seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Telemetry RN for its night shift team. You'll provide comprehensive nursing care to adult patients with a wide range of medical, surgical, and cardiac conditions. This is a fast-paced role requiring strong clinical judgment, cardiac monitoring expertise, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Continuously monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs; identify and respond promptly to changes in patient condition
• Administer medications and treatments per physician orders, including cardiac drips as applicable
• Manage pre- and post-operative care for surgical patients, including wound care and pain management
• Coordinate care for patients with chronic and acute conditions (diabetes, cardiac, respiratory)
• Collaborate with physicians, cardiologists, case managers, and interdisciplinary teams on care plans and discharge planning
• Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, medications, and discharge instructions
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in the EMR
• Manage a typical patient load of 4–6 patients per shift
• Ensure infection control and fall prevention protocols are followed

Requirements

• Active RN license in Ohio or compact license (in hand at time of submission)
• Minimum 18 months recent, permanent Med-Surg Telemetry experience
• BLS and ACLS certification (active and current)
• Telemetry/EKG interpretation competency
• BSN preferred; ADN accepted
• One professional reference (manager, ANM, supervisor, or director) required from past 12 months
