Operating Room Nurse – Travel
Position Overview
The facility's operating room is seeking experienced circulating and scrub nurses for a 13-week travel assignment. You'll support a high-volume OR with diverse surgical specialties, averaging 35–50 cases daily across 16 operating suites.
Shift & Schedule
- Monday–Thursday, 4 × 10-hour shifts (8:30 p.m.–7:00 a.m.)
- Rotating day off
- Weekend on-call: Friday end of shift through Monday 6:30 a.m.
- Holiday rotation required (1–2 of 3 summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day)
- Start date: September 14, 2026
Clinical Scope
You'll work across multiple service lines including general surgery, orthopedic trauma, cardiac/PV, neurosurgery, robotics (da Vinci), gynecology, urology, pediatrics, and transplants, with limited ENT and plastics cases. The facility uses advanced technology including robotic-assisted systems, neuronavigation, and specialized orthopedic instrumentation. Turnovers are expected under 20 minutes.
Requirements
- Active RN license in Iowa (compact license acceptable)
- 24 months current OR experience in a hospital/medical center setting
- Circulating and/or scrub experience required
- BLS (AHA) and ACLS certification
- Experience with general, trauma, pediatric, and robotic cases required
- Prior travel assignment within 9 months
- Minimum 50 miles from facility (non-local candidates only)
- Must be available to float across assigned facilities
